Option 1: You want only the end of the trilogy story and not the beginning or middle and no extras?.If you do not own any of the trilogy, the question at this point is how much of it do you want to own? The sections below outline what you need depending on what you already have, in relation to what you want to end up owning. If you own none of the previous entries in the trilogy, it's up to you if you want to own all of it, there's multiple ways to get it all, including buying the previous games and then claiming the access passes within Hitman 3, and then there's the other DLC for Hitman 3 that aren't access passes… let's get started, shall we? Just to repeat for clarity: Hitman 3 with access passes is all main story content and locations in one launcher, it's just missing some of the challenge packs and extra escalation content along with fewer achievements and some streamlining of the tools and mastery process. However, if you want 100% of all game play elements across the entire trilogy, you will actually need to own the previous games stand alone as they contain additional challenges and escalations that were not brought forward into Hitman 3. In fact if you aren't aware of this the store will let you buy them, essentially double paying for content you already qualify to own.īeyond that, If all you care about is story, then you only really need to own Hitman 3 and the access passes (DLC) inside of it. And if you own either of the previous two games, you can qualify for some access passes free, this isn't mentioned or explained anywhere on the store page and is the main focus of this guide. Just to make things more confusing, they have also named one of their packages Hitman Trilogy which unfortunately doesn't actually contain everything, this will be covered later in the guide. Once you get past that hurdle the rest is easier to understand. Rather than add DLC to the first game in the trilogy, each additional piece has been released as a stand alone game while the previous games missions are remastered inside of it as DLC, it's the opposite of how most games expand. Hitman Trilogy is a storyline that has been spread across three games in the franchise. The store page is simple enough that you shouldn't need a guide anymore, so congratulations to everyone who whined about it, you can now pay extra instead of being granted free content for owning the previous games.ĮDIT: I don't know how any of you are still confused. The simple summary is: The Standard Package has most of the story but you still need Deluxe to get all of it, and then they added a couple more cosmetic packs that aren't bundled with anything. I've tried to help people and warn them this was coming, no one wanted to listen, I get screamed at for telling the truth. I may rewrite the rest of the guide at some point, but I just don't care right now. The important thing to note is that the price has gone up if you're an owner of Hitman 2 that has not already bought the game, while the total price went down a tiny bit for new buyers who currently own nothing.Īccess passes are no longer given for what you own of the previous games, so you get to buy everything again instead of getting things free. On Januthe way the game is purchased was changed.
